Music Performance, Music Pedagogy lays the groundwork for the student to develop the business and professional skills needed to teach music in the marketplace (small business, academy, private) or college/university setting.
Music Performance, Musical Theatre program seeks to:- mentor the student artist through the process of developing a biblical worldview as applied to music pedagogy;
- offer a quality educational experience in music foundations, and music pedagogy;
- provide performance and/or ministry opportunities that integrate the academic skills learned with a real-world context;
- encourage the development of artistic and technical competence in their art form:
- instruct the student in the necessary skill set for managing the business and non-performance aspects of a professional career in teaching music.
Career possibilities: private music teacher, private music academy professor, Christian school music teacher (non-certified), music ministry (local church, missions/global), college and/or university music professor, professional musician, professional accompanist.
Potential graduate programs: masters/doctorate in any area of music, music pedagogy, as well as seminary graduate programs.
