Music Performance, Music Pedagogy, as with all of the Music Performance program emphases, integrates courses from three distinct academic divisions:
(piano majors would test out of Piano Lab I & II, decreasing this value by 2 credit hours).
W&PA Core (5 credit hours)
- Worship Arts Forum (Studio recital)
- Worship Arts Seminar
- Junior Recital
- Senior Recital
- Internships (two semesters, in local or international theater)
- W&PA Practicum (one semester, in musical theatre)
Music Core (38 credit hours)
- Music Theory I, II
- Music Theory III, IV
- Musicianship I, II
- Piano Lab I, II (or for pianists, piano proficiency exam)
- Intro to Composition
- Conducting I
- Large Ensemble (8 semesters)
- Applied Lessons (10 in eight semesters)
Music Pedagogy (12 credit hours)
- Principles and Practice of Music Pedagogy
- Business Practice for Music Entrepreneurs
- Repertoire Class—vocal or instrumental
Music Education (3 credit hours)
- Learning in Music
In addition to the core A&S courses, Music History I, II and IIIwould be required as A&S electives. History of Christian Song would be the required HIS core course.
