Paid Caroling Opportunity!
The Strasburg Railroad is looking for duos to sing around their station for Santa Trains over the next 4 weekends. My contacts at the railroad feel it is important for their guests to be greeted with the message of Christmas. Being that you are a Christian college, I thought you might have some students that would be happy to share the Good News! FYI - I am a fellow musician (not a RR employee).
Attached, you will find a schedule with available time slots beginning Friday, Nov. 27.
Pay is $35 per person per hour. Break times will be discussed with the duos according to the length of their commitments.
Dress code is dark pants for guys and dark skirts for girls. Plain coats on top (no logos). No visible tattoos. No jewelry on the guys. One set of earrigns okay on girls. The railroad is trying to replicate a feel for the early 1900's.
The carolers must sing Public Domain music. Most sacred carols are on this list. I have a list available to send to the singers when they contact me. Ideally the duo should be able to harmonize for most songs.
The railroad is also looking for some readers to read the Christmas story and other selections to children. The dates/times for this job are: Dec. 3,4,10,11,17,18 from 12-4pm. Pay for this job is $10/hour ($40/shift).
